The Opportunity:

As the Online Business Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic growth of our online business, which includes our Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT) store, Shopify store, and our Membership platform, Equipping ELLs. This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to shape the trajectory of our digital storefronts and educational resources. Your work will directly impact our mission to equip educators with effective tools for English language learners, while ensuring our operations run smoothly, efficiently, and profitably.

Through our TpT store, Shopify store, and membership site, we provide educators with innovative, easy-to-implement tools that make a difference in classrooms worldwide. Our remote team is passionate about finding smart, tech-savvy solutions to support teachers more effectively.

What You'll Do:

  1. Growth & Strategy Execution:
    • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow our TpT store, Shopify store, and membership.



  1. Project & Team Management:
    • Lead and manage a remote team of content creators, designers, and virtual assistants.
    • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and foster a positive, productive team environment.
    • Provide regular feedback, training, and development opportunities to support team growth.
    • Use project management tools like ClickUp to organize, track, and optimize ongoing projects.

 

  1. AI Integration & Innovation:
    • Stay informed on AI trends and tools that can optimize marketing, customer experience, and product development.
    • Implement AI-based tools to enhance email marketing, customer interactions, and data analytics.
    • Identify opportunities to integrate AI solutions into daily operations for increased efficiency and scalability.
  2. Marketing and Sales Strategy:
    • Collaborate on and implement marketing campaigns across email, social media, and online promotions.
    • Analyze sales data and trends to optimize product listings, marketing strategies, and promotional efforts.
    • Develop SEO strategies and explore AI-driven marketing solutions to increase product visibility and engagement.
  3. Product Management:
    • Oversee the creation, organization, and optimization of digital products.
    • Monitor product performance, gather customer feedback, and implement improvements.
    • Ensure consistency and quality across all resources while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
  4. Tools and Systems Oversight:
    • Utilize tools like Canva, ClickUp, Google Analytics, ActiveCampaign, and TpT analytics to manage operations.
    • Integrate AI tools for automation, data analysis, and content personalization.
    • Ensure systems and processes are in place for efficient, accurate reporting and decision-making.

 

  1. Budgeting and Financial Oversight:
    • Manage budgets for marketing, content creation, and operational expenses.
    • Analyze financial performance, track revenue trends, and identify growth opportunities.
    • Work with leadership to set financial goals and ensure profitability across all platforms.

Must-Haves in a Candidate:

  • Proven experience as an Online Business Manager or similar operational leadership role, preferably in e-commerce, digital products, memberships or educational context.
  • Strong project management skills with experience using tools like ClickUp or Asana.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, including email marketing (ActiveCampaign), SEO strategies, and social media campaigns.
  • Familiarity with online educational platforms like Teachers Pay Teachers and membership sites.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a remote team.
  • Data Driven and analytical mindset with experience using tools like Google Analytics to drive business decisions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AI tools and emerging trends in e-commerce, memberships, marketing, and education.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have in a Candidate:

  • Background in education, particularly in ESL/ELL.
  • Experience with, TpT, Shopify, Kajabi and similar e-commerce platforms.
  • Canva proficiency for creating or overseeing product visuals and marketing materials.
  • Familiarity with subscription-based membership models and strategies.
  • Experience with AI tools like ChatGPT, Jasper, or similar platforms for content creation and process automation.
  • Previous experience scaling digital product businesses using tech-driven strategies.
