Sales Account Executive – School Partnerships

The Opportunity:
As the Sales Account Executive, you will lead our efforts to grow school and district partnerships across the U.S. You’ll manage both inbound and outbound leads, guiding prospective schools through every stage of the sales lifecycle—from initial contact to successful onboarding and long-term relationship management. This role is pivotal in expanding the reach of our Equipping ELLs Membership, allowing us to support more teachers and students with effective, research-based tools. With the growing role of AI in sales and marketing, you’ll have the opportunity to implement innovative tools that streamline operations and improve engagement.
English Language Learners represent one of the fastest-growing student populations in the United States. In fall 2021, approximately 5.3 million public school students were identified as ELLs, accounting for 10.6% of total enrollment.Projections indicate that by 2025, emergent bilinguals are expected to comprise 25% of the total K–12 enrollment. This significant growth underscores the increasing demand for specialized resources and support for ELL students and educators.

What You'll Do:
1. Sales Pipeline Management & CRM Development:
- Develop and manage a CRM system to track leads, contacts, and sales activities.
- Identify and engage districts with growing ELL populations through personalized email campaigns, phone calls, and social media connections, focusing on administrators and ELL program coordinators.
- Craft messaging that highlights the growing need for ELL support, shares success stories, and offers resources like free webinars or pilot programs to demonstrate impact.
- Track performance metrics, test outreach strategies, and adapt messaging based on feedback and shifts in educational policy to maximize effectiveness.
- Handle inbound inquiries while proactively identifying and contacting potential school and district clients.
- Follow up consistently to nurture leads and guide them through the sales process.
- Use AI tools to identify trends, score leads, and personalize outreach for better engagement.
2. Sales Strategy & Client Engagement:
- Implement strategies to generate leads and build relationships with key decision-makers in schools and districts.
- Conduct discovery calls and virtual presentations to showcase the Equipping ELLs Membership and its benefits.
- Customize sales approaches to address the unique needs of schools supporting English language learners.
- Leverage AI-powered insights to adjust messaging and prioritize high-potential opportunities.
3. Sales Lifecycle & Pipeline Management
- Oversee the entire sales lifecycle, from prospecting and lead generation to closing deals and ensuring successful onboarding.
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, tracking prospects through each stage and implementing strategies to accelerate deal flow.
- Collaborate with school leaders to tailor solutions that meet their needs, ensuring smooth implementation and long-term satisfaction.
- Leverage AI tools to monitor pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, or potential churn.
4. Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Track and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
- Stay informed about trends in the educational market, particularly related to ELL instruction.
- Use data-driven insights to adjust strategies and meet or exceed growth targets.
- Implement AI analytics tools to forecast sales trends and optimize decision-making.
5. Collaboration & Representation:
- Work closely with the marketing and curriculum teams to align sales efforts with product offerings and brand messaging.
- Represent Equipping ELLs at industry conferences, webinars, and educational events (travel expenses covered).
- Serve as the voice of the customer internally, providing feedback to help refine our products and services.
- Collaborate with marketing to test AI-driven content personalization for outreach campaigns.
Must-Haves in a Candidate:
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in education, EdTech, or educational publishing
- Strong understanding of the school and district decision-making process.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence educational leaders.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and comfort-building systems from scratch if needed.
- Experience using AI tools for lead generation, sales forecasting, or content personalization (e.g., HubSpot, Apollo.io, ChatGPT, or similar platforms).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
Nice to Have in a Candidate:
- Experience selling directly to school districts or educational institutions.
- Background in teaching, curriculum development, or educational leadership.
- Familiarity with language acquisition strategies and best practices for ELL instruction.
- Experience representing a company at educational conferences or industry events.
- Knowledge of emerging AI trends in educational sales and marketing.
